Below we have 2 toning examples for you: the basin method and installed method, then we discuss the use of MUVO treatments on hair extensions.
If you’re after a quick and effective way to counteract yellow tones in blonde hair, we recommend toning hair extensions with MUVO Ultra Blonde Shampoo. Wefts, tape and other types of hair extensions can be toned before initial integration with the client’s hair. Any of the MUVO range of toning shampoos can be used in this same way.
The “basin method” is the safest and most effective way to tone hair extensions. As you can see in this clip below, MUVO Ultra Blonde Shampoo is added to the basin, then extensions can be dipped in and out until desired amount of toning is achieved. From creamy blondes, to striking platinums, to silvery greys – it will all depend on the timing and number of dips! There is nothing worse than toning too much and having to reverse or remove any over-toning, so this method is by far the most fool-proof and popular amongst hairdressers.
Using MUVO Ultra Rose Shampoo on hair extensions gives you creative freedom to produce some amazing and varied pink shades. Any of the MUVO range of toning shampoos can be used in this way.
An alternative application method is to tone micro beaded, weft or tape hair extensions on already installed hair extensions. In this clip below you will see an example of toning on extensions that are already installed on a mannequin doll head. By shampooing with Ultra Rose Shampoo, hair extensions can be toned simultaneously with your clients natural hair to create the perfect pink shade desired. NOTE: Ultra Rose Shampoo can process a little quicker on hair extensions than Ultra Blonde, so make sure you observe closely when applying in whatever way you choose.
Ultra Rose Shampoo can also be applied by diluting with MUVO Totally Naked Shampoo if you want to soften the results. We usually recommend equal amounts of Totally Naked and Ultra Rose but this can be flexible depending on the shade of pink required.The MUVO Totally Naked range is ideal for the upkeep of hair extensions.
