CLIENT SAMPLE – scalp condition: thick, encrusted scalp patches

We apologise for the lack of clarity of these images. They were taken by one of our MUVO salons whilst they were in the process of working on a client’s hair and the results were too impressive to ignore. (We think it’s pretty awesome that you all know how to do five things at once with two hands!) Here we demonstrate how Scalp Cleansing Spray with Wild Orange Leaf, Pineapple, Salicylic, Glycolic, Lactic and Citric Acids work to dissolve and break down dead skin cells and thick patches of dry skin.

After waiting for 5 minutes for Scalp Cleansing Spray to do it’s work, we began to rinse at the basin and took 2 images, this being the first.

What’s in this miracle cure?!

Australian Wild Orange Leaf Extract Capparis mitchellii. Wild Orange occurs naturally in savannah forests and grasslands and the drier parts of inland Australia. Why do we love it ? Because of it’s clever combination of amino acids and phenolics, which are antioxidants, it helps to achieve a nourished, healthy hair and scalp.

Pineapple with it’s high Vitamin C content and powerful enzymes that can prevent acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema. Pineapple contains bromelain, which exfoliates the scalp and remove the impurities gently but effectively. Moreover, the anti-inflammatory benefits of pineapple help to soothe a dry and irritated scalp and gives relief from infections.

Glycolic Acid (an Alpha hydroxy acid) derived from sugar cane helps to exfoliate the scalp to remove dead skin cells gently away. An excellent pore cleanser and handy solution for dandruff and flaky scalp. It also helps hair breakage and protects from further damage.

Salicylic acid (normally found in acne-fighting products and is a Beta hydroxy acid) can help to heal a dry, itchy, scaly scalp and scalp conditions including dandruff and dermatitis. Salicylic acid works by dissolving dead skin cells that can accumulate to create thick patches of dry skin; breaking them down to help stop them from forming.

Lactic Acid (an Alpha hydroxy acid) helps to maintain the pH balance of hair and scalp. It works to break down the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, making it an effective exfoliant for the scalp.

Citric Acid (an Alpha hydroxy acid) helps to remove excess oil and balance the PH of the hair and scalp.

How should I use Scalp Cleansing Spray?

MUVO Scalp Cleansing Spray is a pre-shampoo product that is used by spraying directly onto a dry scalp. Massage in and wait for 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave it, the more effective it will be, but we recommend a maximum of 10 minutes. Take your client to the basin and rinse thoroughly with water. Follow with shampoo – for best results we suggest you follow with MUVO Deep Cleansing Shampoo. We also recommend the MUVO Scalp Brush paired with MUVO Deep Cleansing Shampoo; starting at the back of the scalp, massage in with the MUVO Scalp Brush and work towards the front of the scalp. We recommend starting at the nape or back of the neck because this is where your client’s hair will accumulate the most build-up and oils.

Safe on hair extensions?

Please be careful with tape hair extensions. MUVO Scalp Cleansing Spray is safe to use on weft hair extensions only. We do not recommend the use of MUVO Scalp Cleansing Spray on tape hair extensions, as the glue may be dissolved. Instead we recommend the Totally Naked range for tape extensions.

Will MUVO Scalp Cleansing Spray strip colour from my hair?

MUVO Scalp Cleansing Spray uses Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids and plant acids to remove build up and dead skin. MUVO temporary shampoos wash out in 1-2 washes in most cases and Scalp Cleansing Spray may cause that to happen more quickly. It is not meant to remove permanent, demi or semi colours. We recommend you use caution.
